The creative power of God has been something that has been resonating with me for a while now, especially though nature.
Having read Psalm 96 at the beginning of this last summer, it's opened my eyes to how the creation is singing praises of the Creator. I found a poem today and it spoke to me on this topic.
Recently, a friend and I were discussing things that were untouched by man, and the idea of what happens once it has been touched. My friend brought up the example of a tree. How does God use it once man touches it? How is it changed? Or is God glorified because His creation has been used to meet the needs of His children?
Having pondered a minute on it, I shared my thoughts.... With something like trees it speaks of His creativity. The creativity to have made something like a tree, something that defies gravity as it draws water up from the roots to nourish it. And it uses something that is toxic to us, carbon dioxide, to create things that benefit us such as oxygen and wood through chemical changes at the most fundamental, atomic level. How He designed it to be..... And then the creativity he gives us to construct something such as a house that can stand as a living testament to His provision and creativity. Trees.
So much more as well...Nature blares His name...
Trees.
I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the sweet earth's flowing breast.
A tree that looks at God all day
And lifts her leafy hands to pray.
A tree that may in summer wear
A nest of Robins in her hair.
Upon whose bosom snow has lain
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by fools like me
Bot only God can make a tree.
